The things we do that make no sense

This morning I thought we would start cleaning out some of the closets before the move. My husband cleaned out a lot of his old clothes and bagged them up, but he left some luggage in the floor. Then I started cleaning out my closet and was walking out of the bathroom with clothes in hand and dragging on the floor and much to my surprise, I tripped over the luggage. I guess I forgot that it was even there, since I could not see it. Down I went crashing into the wardrobe and to the wall. Ouch! That really hurt so much. Did I say yeoweh! Ouch! Ouchie! I could not even get up, so I am calling for my husband to come and help me.

Little did I know he was in the attic cleaning out stuff. He finally comes to my rescue and helps me up. Then I see the damage to the wardrobe. The door was split from top to bottom by then hinges. I hurt my knee, neck, head, shoulder and hand. All I can think about it how hard I have worked to get myself in better shape with my RA and I hope this does not set me back with my treatment, but I hurt so bad, I am sure it will be a setback. All I can say is don't get old folks.

After I recover, then my husband continues in the attic. He is bringing down boxes of old checks to burn and misses the wrung on the stairs and breaks the lower part of the ladder. Of course he is fine.

I am just about in tears from my acccident then I hear Doc say "Help me I have fallen and I can't get up!"He is teasing me about my fall. Well, this just brings me to the kitchen laughing so hard that I am crying. By then we are both laughing and I am just thinking that we are so old that I am glad we aren't moving ourselves. I fall about once every other week lately. Doc's comments about my falling turns to talk of getting me my own buzzer alarm and I am giving him this look.

personal safety alarm to wear around my neck? I don't think so!

What! I can't wait til I have to go up the stairs at the new home. I will probably fall up them!

That is how the morning went...

Then a friend calls me and ask me to take her to another town to pick up a bed and head board set. Because I have a pickup truck and I know she needs the help, off we go to pick up the bed. The man loads it in the truck and tied it down. Keep in mind that I drive a big truck and that I don't drive very well or back up or park this truck because it is so big. Of course, I can not turn my head because of the mishaps earlier that morning and my body hurts all over.

Off we go about three miles at 40 mph and whoomp, thud, kersplat goes the mattress out of the truck on a busy road with merging traffic. There is a king size bed in the middle of two lane of traffic with a merge lane.

The bed is larger than this one

I pull over and let my friend and her daughter out of the truck to get the mattress and have to go and turn around. Thankfully, two men stopped and helped them carry the bed out of harms way. Then these two unlikely angels help load it in the truck and really tie it down good.

Off we go again. This time much more secured than before and traveling at 40 mph. We do finally make it to her home. Of course no one is there to unload this big bed. After waiting for a while, the guys come home and unload the bed and head board into their house.

Then my friend says she will be out in a little bit to help me clean out my storage room. It is where I kept my floral supplies and vases, container, ribbons and all things floral related. I am giving her all of my things because she still caterers, makes cakes and does flowers. So we work until dark thirty. I am in so much pain right now that I can hardly move. We do make a big dent in my supplies. The rest of my stuff will go to our church garage sale.

So this is how I spent my day. When I picked my friend and her daughter up, I said to her teen- age daughter," Just think of the memories that we will make today!" We are always about making good memories. That was an understatement for sure! One day when I am even older, I can hear my friends daughter telling me about today and I probabley won't even remember it. We sure did make some memories.

A day with friends is always a great day!

wow I hope you are feeling better from the fall, nothing is worse than our own clumsiness. My family is the master of it, my mom managed to hurl herself head first into one of the green city trashcans and cut her leg so bad she had a trip to the ER. And not to mention the step ladder you have going into your attic is one just like theirs where she thought she folded it up and the ladder came crashing on her head cutting it wide open. Those ladders scare me, i once had to haul a 400lb christmas tree down those stairs and i thought that would be the end of me.

LOL at your visual images with your story, those were great :-)

Hope you are feeling better

Awh, thanks Muse...I am such a clutz as of late, seems my balance is way off! That sounds terrible about your Mom! I love that word HURL...that's what I did... I hurled myself into the wardrobe and the wall. hahaha

Hope that you are good. I am still trying to figure out this post with pictures. They never go where I want them to paste and then I try to move them and well, you can see the sad results! LOL

I still have not bought a camara. We are moving on the Jan 14-16th and I have so much to do before then. Hope to get one later.

Enjoy your weekend.

You're moving to a house with all those stairs? Do you think that's wise? LOL

Before we actually installed a loft ladder we just used a regular step ladder which once you reached the top you had to haul yourself into the loft. I remember the last time I used it - going up was ok coming down the ladder fell away and so did I!

Very funny! Akelamula, we don't really have that many stairs to climb up. LOL

what a way to start the new year!
moving ... bah humbug, the longest move I ever made was a two hour trip. that was sept 2006, we had 5 kids at that time. (yes they were older but still, they accumulate a lot of stuff) we pitched a plenty!
As far as big trucks I love my GMC Envoy and all to often the kids call to employ a move. I have great strap downs for the luggage wrack, if only I knew how to work them, lol, so I to have been pulled over with half a couch moving towards the road.
I hope that your move goes smoothly and unpacking well, don't stress it, do a lil at a time. I still have boxes packed. Sounds like you need some calgon, a glass of wine, some scented candles and then a magical massage! for sore muscles and joints I recommend a product called Freeze, you can find it with the ben gay. It works very well and doesn't set you on fire.
Hope the new year brings you some goodness with plenty, blessings to you dear Pam

Oh my! You are having adventures. They may make painful living but they are good reading. Hope you are feeling better. Do think about writing to Dennis Puffett. (Healing Haven on my side bar.) I know I keep telling everyone about him, but he's REALLY good and he's free.

Hey Raven, So nice of you to stop by and leave me a comment. Thank you again for the mention of Healing Haven. I have not given it too much thought, but that does not mean that I have ruled him out either.

I am looking forward to Wordzzle this Sat. Right?

I be there for sure...
