He has been a volunteer fire fighter for a while now and is hoping to get hired on by the Lincoln Parrish Fire Dept. This is his passion in life. I pray for his safety because he has told me some harrowing experiences while on the job.
He would also kill me, if he knew I had posted this on my blog. That's what mothers do best. Embarrass their kids. Ha!
I can't believe he drives this big fire truck. If he gets the job, then he can afford to go back to college. He lacks 30 hours until he graduates with a degree in Journalism and History. It seems like you were just a little boy of ten just the other day.
Thank you, Hunter, for being you.

He must have a very caring heart to want to be a firefighter. I hope he gets to live his dream, even if it is a scary dream from a mother's perspective. I hope you had a great day!
Thank you Aphra, I hope yours was good as well.
Hau`oli La Hanau to Hunter. Oh my friend I think you better start running for the hills. You know what I do when I find this kinda thing out. Hope he had a great day :) Aloha
Thom, what are you talking about?
You did a good job, mother. Hope he gets the job and can finish school, a dream come true.
kids grow fast, dont they? happy birthday to your son and may he get this job and stay safe always :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNTER!
It's scary how fast your children grow up - my boys are 38 and 33 - I didn't realise I was that old! LOL
Sorry I've not been around, we just got back from another weekend jaunt. :)
DeEtta, thank you so much for the birthday wishes.
Hunter has Tourette's Syndrome, the mild form, so it goes with out saying that we are really proud of him. He has overcome so much in his young life.
The great thing about Hunter is that he would not change a thing about his life because that is the way God made him.
Lena, thank you for stopping by and commenting. I went to your blog, but did not leave a comment. You have a nice blog.
Thanks for the birthday wishes for my son.
Akelamula, you are so right. I don't know where the time has gone, but I loved every moment of raising our sons.
My oldest, Brian, is 34 and in the Air Force. He will be heading out to Germany for a TDY for four months.
Trust me, we did not get old, but our kids did! LOL
My son just turned 39. I can't believe it either. Time just passes so quickly.
You have every right to be proud of your son. He's doing very well for himself.
Have a terrific day Pam. Big hug. :)
It's a great thing to be able to be proud of a child. Happy birthday to your son. I hope he gets the job.
Obviously you raised a caring person who wants to give back to his community. I can hear the pride. Happy Birthday and I hope you get your dream job....Michelle
Such a nice post ... I am sure he forgave you!
I cannot remember if I have been here before or not, but noticed a comment (about my comment) at Mimi's Castle in Bloggingham. if that makes sense
. Thought I would stop in and say hello :-)
Listening to your music machine too (( not bad! ))
Thanks Michelle for the nice comments. I did tell him that I did a post on him. He was OK with it.
He came home unexpectedly and we went to lunch to celebrate. It was nice to see him.
Speedcat, I have commented before on your blog. You are one smart man.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Hunter forgave me, besides I bought his lunch. Ha!
Wow, it's funny - you have a son who drives a fire truck, he's a hero to many just for that, and his name is Hunter (sounds outrageously manly to a Brit, that name does) and yet he is as vulnerable to being embarrassed by his mum as any other guy. The sweetness of this post has me grinning from ear to ear, absolutely gorgeous :D Hope you had a happy birthday Hunter!
