Finally a view of our home

When we bought our land it came with this huge double wide manufactured mobile home. I guess that is what you call it. I'm not sure if it is a mobile home or what ever. It was two years old and in good condition. We had planned on building a home, but at this point I think we will hold off. The one thing I don't like is that our home is pier and beam. I don't feel safe during a tornado. Other than that it is alright. Of course I had my dream home(we raised our kids there and finally remodeled it) which we sold to move here for Hubs work. My hope is to get this place fixed up and make it look like a real home.

This is my favorite view of the back deck and the woods. We so love the country life and the beauty of nature.

My number one rule for furniture and accessories is that it has to work in every room of my home and that has served me well over the years.

It helps cut down on over buying or buying something on impulse or at least it does that for me. Because I have a lot of old stuff which mostly I adore I have been known to put everything in as many different places as I could. What works in the living room should also work in the bedroom. With this advice, you can never go wrong.

None of my floral arrangements I designed looked right in this home

That will be my next mission to find and design some pretty arrangements.

Formal dining room

We feed a bunch of family at Thanksgiving

I have been loading photos forever today.

I am not sure if this in any sort of
order.

Antique oak ice box and view to dining room

Rose capatimonte basket that belonged to my grandmother

I love cut glass, etched glass, crystal and pressed glass

I have just now started to think about all of the house.

I still had boxes stuffed in the closets.

I cleaned that out a couple of weeks ago.

I found the old photos of my grandparents and some baby photos.

It still doesn't feel quite right to me, but I think I am getting close.
Nothing looks like it did it my former home and that makes me very sad.

I am still fine tuning things.

I am open for suggestions if anyone has any ideas.

This is my favorite room in the whole house

It just feels right to me.
Gold medallions on these lace panels with red silk drapes

The antique water color painting got replaced with the TV.
My company likes to watch it.

I just got tired of adding the photos.

HI PAM-

Wow, great pictures. really got a 'feel' for your home and style. I felt like I was in a castle. A beautiful castle. :-)

Lily, I am all about the view to our land. That is my favorite part of this place the land.

Gail,Thank you for the nice comment, but what you don't see is what bothers me the most. Like the hole in the sheet rock where we took down the ugly built in TV and book shelves. I have it hidden with furniture in the dining room.
Love to you.

Rudee, thank you for taking the tour. I hope the heat has let up for you. Big hugs to you and Leo.

Good Morning Pam! Oh my what a beautiful home you have and it's amazing the amount of space you have to play with. Judging by your beautiful furniture and accessories your previous home must have been HUGE and a Mediterranean style. I love your antiques...they always make a home feel special. It's obvious that your 'new' home isn't in the same style as your last one but if you like what you had before then I'm sure with some paint and hardware etc you could make your home have that same feel. You have beautiful furniture and accessories and unless you want to change your style I think you could make this home perfect for YOU. I know what you mean about a feeling though...

Thanks for going to all that work to show us your home...I hope you'll take pictures of your yard too...your deck looks WONDERFUL! Good luck and have fun getting your home to have that 'feel' that you're looking for. Maura :)

Maura, you really understand me and my feeling about my home. I care about making a nice home for my family. Well my home is a sanctuary to me. That is where my heart is. Now if I could just keep it clean from all the dirt that gets tracked inside. LOL!

Our former home we built 26 years ago, and it took me forever to like it because I love old homes and that was the first new home I had ever lived in. After we remodled it, it was the perfect home for us. It was not fancy but just home sweet home. Of course we raised our boys there and I had so many wonderful memories. I think that is what made that home so special to me.

Now my sons have grown up and moved away. I have not bonded with my new home yet. Land is very hard to buy here because no one sells their land, so when we found this place we bought it for the land.

Hubs has been working on the land every since we moved in. I will post pre photos of the deck. The best thing about the land is all the dogwoods and the birds and the deer.

Thanks for understanding and for a lovely comment.
Hugs,
Pam

DeEtta, You are always so nice and leave me the best comments. That is another reason I love you so much! My sister's only son and his sweet family come often to visit us. I adore them and their little children are so cute. They are 5 and 2. I think that is what I miss the most is kids. Maybe I should open a camp grounds. Only thing is they would have to cook. LOL!

I think your home is lovely. And don't worry...I suspect that even if it never feels exactly like your previous home, that you'll still be able to make it feel like your home. And that's the important thing.

Cheers!

Travis, you seem to always know how to say just the right thing.

Thank you for the comment.

This is just gorgeous and spectacular my friend. Awesome pictures and that deck is something else. Beautiful It will be your home in no time at all :) Have a great weekend :)

Thom, thank you my friend. I guess I should just look through your eyes. We built the deck first and then replaced the black cheap appliances with stainless.

We'll do it a little bit at a time and when the money allows us to.

I still want to paint, but I just don't have it in me right now. We need to replace patio and back door, and eventually I would like to put down wood floors. I forget that it took me forever to get my former house the way I wanted it.

I always appreciate your positive comments. Have a great weekend.

I really enjoyed taking the tour of your home...will you post some photos outside as I love your deck.. (I will get hubby to take a photo of my haircut..it is so much easier)

Michelle, you can click on the photo to make it bigger. I can't wait to see your hair cut.

Today I got photos of the pond and some sunflowers. I will post later.

I forgot my password to photobucket and just opened a new account. I forgot that I had saved all the really good outdoor photos there. I will try to get new photos, but the flowers look dead.
