This little snake was outside my back door hiding underneath the door mat. I saw one of these Glossy snakes down in the carport on the trellis a few weeks ago, then we saw another one on the lower deck. Pretty sneaky snake. I was about to straighten up the door mat when I saw him.
He is a pretty snake as far as snakes go

Is that one of those little garden snakes? Braver than me to hold it LOL :)
Hi Miss Pam,
That is quite a cute little guy. His little "mask" looks like it is painted on, isn't God amazing.
Put him to work in your garden, maybe he will keep the pesky bugs away.
Hugs,
Prudence (Sissy is hiding under her blankie - yep, afraid of snakes. Good grief.
Cute once you know he can't get you good! One can hurt themselves in the meantime, lol! Bandit eyes are neat and glad he was a "good" one so he could be relocated :)
I just don't want to handle snakes, but he's a little cutie pie and he'd be a lot cuter if he was way further away. Just saying.
Have a terrific day Pam. Big hug. :)
HI PAM-'
so brave of you to 'hold' that little guy (or gal), the colors and mask are beautiful. We have a snake that has lived under our front stoop for years, he/she sheds his skin every year and leaves it for us to 'see'.
Love Gail
peace......
yikes Pam....those guys would scare me. I'm afraid of snakes. I wouldn't call him cute but I would call you guys brave.☺☺
If that is you holding the snake you are pretty brave. We had snakes just like that in our barn. My dad wouldn't kill them because they were good mousers. He/she is kind of cute.
ACK! I'm hoping you have a SUPER zoom lens and you weren't close to that thing!!
Can you tell that I'm askeered of snakes?
Yeah, he is a cutie pie...... :)
Oooer that would have scared me!
Thom this is the first time I have seen this glossy snake. Hubs is holding it while I took the photos.
The Bear's Blog, I am sorry that Sissy was afraid. I am afraid of mice and anything that moves too fast! Maybe that will make her feel better!
Lailani, I am glad that he was a good snake too, but to be right in front of my back door creeps me out.
Sandee, my husband is so brave. I guess when you live in the deep woods like we do we can expect to see just about anything.
Gail, I am always facinated with the skin. Until I figure out how big he was.
Sarah, snakes are not my favorite, but over the years I have learned to touch them.
DeEtta, I am glad to know that you have seen this kind of snake before. I hope I don't find anymore. That was my hubs holding the snake so I could get the photo.
Jennifer, I was standing next to my husband. I am just an observer and picture taker. I did pet him, but I am not brave enough to capture him by his little head. He was unhinging his mouth which creeped me out.
JBR, it has taken me a while to learn to let the good snakes go. I had a friend that lived in town and she would always call us to come and kill her snakes.
Akelamula, it was the shock of finding him hidding underneath the door mat.
It has been interesting to read the different comments on snakes. Thank you all for stopping by and commenting.
Peace and love to you all.
Good thing you can't hear me squealing.
