The Queen's Meme #61 ~ The Silly Serious Thanksgiving Meme

The Queen's Meme #61 ~ The Silly Serious Thanksgiving Meme
Welcome to The Queen's Meme #61 ~ The Silly Serious Thanksgiving Meme!

In Canada, it is celebrated on the second Monday in October. In the United States, the fourth Thursday in November. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest, loved ones near and far, the blessing of simply breathing everyday. Let's pause for a moment and think about what we're thankful for. My goal this year is to focus on the small things that I should be grateful for - even without a holiday looming. Having said that, this is serious and silly simultaneously!
Enjoy. Have seconds!

1. If you knew this would be the last Thanksgiving holiday with your family, what would you do differently?

I might be tempted to use the good china.

2. What is your favorite Thanksgiving dinner dish?

My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is with out a doubt the dressing. That is all I need, well the pumpkin pie also.

3. Why did John Smith fall in love with Pocahontas? Was it her beauty or her bravery?

I think it was her beauty and her brains.

4. Fill in the blank: Over the river and through the woods to grandma's blog we go.

5. What is a cornucopia?
A. A foot ailment B. Freud's hidden coping strategy C. a Enuch with a very large vocabulary D. third cousin of Onomatopoeia

Silly girl, where did you find th0se definitions? You know I am going to google this just to make sure?

6. Find a word that rhymes with Thanksgiving

Yanksliving... it's a new holiday if you didn't know that already?

7. Do you have any holiday traditions you'd like to share with us?

Nope, it is pretty much the same way as we have always done it. I clean and clean my home, Bake a turkey and a ham, set the table, make the tea, make the dressing, make a pie, make supper the night before for the early birds, then we wait for the family members to arrive with their food offering. We eat like we have never had a meal, visit furiously, pack up the left overs and just like a mad dash they are off. Poof! Whew! I am tired just thinking about all of those conversations, sounds like a bunch of chickens talking. Prakk, prakk, doodle do, and so forth.
Those are chicken sounds if you never have heard them before, the spelling may not be right, but I can make the sounds
.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

I like my dressing too, but the pumpkin pie is hands down my favorite. With vanilla ice cream please. I'm so looking forward to the pumpkin pie.

Your last question would be answered about the same. Looks like your family and my family do it about the same.

Have a terrific day and Thanksgiving Pam. Big hug from my house to yours. :)

The only thing that is exactly the same every Thanksgiving, no matter where I am or who I'm with, is football.

Sandee, this year I was ale to not eat as much and only a slither of pecan pie. It is all gone. Yeah!

Joyce, Thank you my friend.

Travis, sorry I forgot the most important thing...FOOTBALL!!!!

Sarah, I have no answer for that? What can I say it was a question.

DeEtta, thanksgiving blessings to you.

Joyce, you really love turkey a lot. WOW!

Dawn, it is so LOUD and it makes me crazy sometimes. And that is not even all of our family. One neice and her family live on an island(Singapore) and our other son lives in Colorado. So we were short a few kids.

Rudee, and many blessings to you.

Ferd, how did you see them? Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment.

Paula,We sound like kindred spirits. Thank you so much for your comment.
