Spring flowers

This is my next project. I purchased these lovely plants last week for my deck. Life got in the way and I have not planted them yet. Then another freeze came and I brought them inside.
Purple delphinium, daffodils, geranium, feather grass on the back side and the little white plant is sweet alyssum. It is so fragrant. I love, love fresh flowers. It reminds me of my grandmother.

She had planted rows and rows of daffodils and Narcissus in her yard. I remember laying down between the rows as a girl thinking this was my little piece of heaven. I am a gardener because of her. Everything she touched grew from her love. I am not always so blessed with a green thumb, but I never tire of trying.

Thank you Grandmoma for loving plants and passing that love on to me. I miss you so much especially when I see a field full of daffodils.

Spring has sprung here in Winston. Gail has been working on our own garden. It is a joy!

JBR, thanks

Ferd, I love Spring time. I'm glad you are having Spring, too.

I love your lirrle touch of spring in a pot. Nothing like fresh flowers to lift your spirits after a long cold winter.

You had a special grandmother. It's amazing how they can guide you without even knowing they did. Excellent.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hug from cold California. :)

Beautiful flowers! I love Delphiniums and seldom see them.

I couldn't imagine the weather there.. it is still covered in snow and ice here, and not due to warm up (that means low minus temps!) until next week!

Those flowers are beautiful! How jealous am I that you can actually put them outdoors and not have them freeze? Very.

DeEtta, you are so right about Spring flowers cheering you up.

Sandee, you and I both had wonderful grand mothers. We were blessed.

Xmichra, of course when your Spring finally arrives, I will be misserable with the dreadful heat and humidity.

Jen @ Crochet Lady, I'm sorry that you have had another blast of snow.

Linda, thank you for stopping by and commenting. I went to read your blog, but there were no posts. Never give up trying.

Rudee, I had to take them in the other night because it was so cold.

Sarah, I hope that you are having
a great week, too. I have been so busy with something everyday.

Tomorrow, I go to my doctor for a recheck on the medicine that helps me sleep.

How pretty!

Four o'clock flowers remind me of my Grandma. She had a bunch along the side of her house and I loved seeing them open up.

That arrangement is absolutely beautiful! THe lasting effects of your grandmother!

I once had a green thumb. I'd garden with my stepfather then I kept going into my adulthood. However, I seemed to have lost it as of the past few years.

Our area is not the greatest for gardening. I also think the location of my home is not very feasible either. The canyon is very open behind the house. The winds are extremely strong and high. THe winds have actually burned the tomato plants :-(.

After that, I kind gave up.

Presious, If you have a lot of winds then I can understand why you gave it up.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Nice to meet you.

I enjoy the way flowers look, but I'm not good at growing things.

Gosh! Pretty flowers. My grandmother has a super green thumb. She can grow anything anywhere. I have even seen her root a rose from a rose stem. I do not even bother to buy plants anymore. I either over water them, or do not water them enough.

Melissa, my grandmother is the one that I learned about flowers from.

I limit what I can grow because of this dreadful Texas heat.
