City of Stars

While this might seem strange to some of you not familiar with oil wells, in my former town, oil was the way most people made their living. Oil is king here. This is one of my favorite views of Kilgore, TX. It reminds me of a string of colored lifesavers on the tops of the wells. It is a long honored tradition that I adore. I never tire of this view. I miss the sense of community where I live now. I appreciate small towns and the friendships that I made while living there. May you enjoy the slide show.

Way cool Pam. We used to have oil wells here in the central valley, but they aren't working anymore. Democratic states hate oil. They'd rather get it from the middle east. What a shame.

Have a terrific day and weekend. Big hug. :)

Hi Miss Pam,

Wow, that is really amazing, we love it. We never lived where there are oil wells.

Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.

That's an awesome photograph.

And Sandee? I live in a democratic state that builds cars and couldn't live without Texas oil. I make an effort to buy gas only from stations I know have American refineries, like Exon-Mobile and Marathon. Sometimes I even pay a little more to put my money where my mouth is. Wish others did the same.
