it is all happening so fast...

We made the offer to buy the land with the double wide and the owners countered, then we countered and they accepted our offer. In other words, we are the soon to be new owners of a new piece of property.

Saturday, our house will be listed for sale and it will be official with the sign in the yard and everything. So this will be our last Thanksgiving in our home. When I told my youngest son, he could not believe that we were moving. He could barely say "Why, when, where and are we still having Thanksgiving this year?"I think he is worried that we won't tell him where we are moving or give him the directions. Hmmmm? Just for a moment I did think about not telling him! I am cruel to the core.

My oldest son that is in the Air Force and his family are in route to Kilgore right now as I write this. They have not been home for Thanksgiving for seven years. So it will be really great to have all the family together one last time. They will get to visit all their cousins and catch up on one another's lives. I just can't wait. We are having 30 here for Thanksgiving. I love it when our home is full of life and loads of kids. Just as it should be. So this year, I am going to soak up all the great memories of the day and carry them in my heart with me to my new home.

I forgot that I have to keep my house clean from now on. Uggh! That is going to be tough. Right now I am going through years of stuff and sorting what to keep and what goes into the big black bag for Goodwill. I have so much to do and not enough time. Mostly, I want to enjoy this time and not get all stressed out because of the work. I am blessed that my sister n laws all bring a dish as well as the nieces. I just provide a clean house, the dishes, make the dressing and cook for them the day before.

My nephew and his wife and their two young children and my only sister are coming over Monday to spend the night, then the next crew of family will come on Wednesday and finally on Thanksgiving all of them will be here. Whew, I am already tired. It will be here and gone so fast that just thinking about it makes me sad. I did not have a large family or aunts or uncles or cousins, so I love my hubby's family. Feels like a real family.

You'll have to make this year's Thanksgiving the best one so far, then you can carry on the tradition in your new home! :)

For the first time we will be gathering at my son Pat's house. Things change.
Good luck selling the house.
We went through the sorting thing when we moved to Neenah and still brought too much. We are still picking out things to give to Good Will. I hope you do a better job. Our new rule is "If you haven't used it in a year get rid of it".

Akelamula, thanks for the words of support and I promise this will be the best thanksgiving ever.

Dr. John, we try to sort and purge once a year. I agree with you about your rule " if you haven't used it in a year get rid of it."

My motto is a clutterd house equals a clutterd mind, but I live with a hubby that likes his stuff.
