Respect

What are people thinking? I have been sadly shocked at the rudeness of people. I don't care for discord so I find it disturbing, all these crass and rude comments by legislators, rappers, and athletes and people in general. What has happened to our world. When did respect no longer mean anything. People wake up! You have so much and you act like this? Like spoiled little children pitching a fit.

We are full of intolerance for anyone. Too full of ourselves to even let a teenager accept her award. How selfish is that? Total lack of conscience, self absorbed and immature. We want what we want... Now! We do not want what anyone else wants. We want our way...Now! We don't care what the consequences are of our bad behavior. You big cry babies. Get over yourselves.

I may be from the old school, but right now I am glad that I have not lost my senses. I have not lost my ability to feel repulsed by the actions of a few bullies. Where did respect go? It would seem that it has gone down the tubes with manners, kindness and discipline. You know who you are and I will gladly listen to your side of the story.

It seems to me that it has gone out the door. Sad but true. I'm so in agreement with you on this :)

I agree Pam... even the blogging world has become a sadder place. There are some things I won't miss.

Great post... take care,

At least you did not grab the mic and steal someone else's blog moment! You have every right to share your opinion at your own blog. I happen to agree with you 100%.

I agree with you. It has been slowly disappearing for years and now it is out of control. You expressed yourself and the feelings of others, good post.

Civility is the mark of a successful civilization! The lack of it erodes that success. I agree that you need to stand up for what you believe and fight for it, like, say freedom, but not because you think the wrong person got the award.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I am sick and tired of rude people. It's a shame, really, but it crosses over into all areas of our lives - even blogging.
Well said, Pam.

Oh, I agree with you, Pam. Keep speaking your mind, and your heart. Recently, I held the door open for an older gentleman, as he was approaching the post office. He smiled & said "You must be old school". You and I grew up in gentler times.
