Trees
Joyce Kilmer. 1886-1918
I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

How majestic trees are. I've been to Redwood National Forest and it is stunning there. Well done my friend :)
love the poem, and the trees do look like sheer perfection of clean air :)
Amen to that! Trees are majestic things. I like all kinds but my favorite is the pine for the way the wind seems to whistle through the boughs.
I so agree with this assessment.
Have a terrific day Pam. Big hug. :)
Wow. You have some spectacular land. I love trees. Joyce Kilmer was my great great Uncle.

I love trees. Growing up they made me feel secure. I would climb way up in the tops and read books. It was like their branches were encircling me in their love. In California loved going to the redwoods where I would sit and try to visualize what they had seen and been through.
You have beautiful trees on your property.
That poem is just magical! Love the photos too. :)
Pam..of course you are a 'green thinker'..please pick up the award if you would like it...Michelle
Yes, one of my very favorite poems of all time...thanks for sharing its simple beauty and the lovely pictures of trees with us today. I can't wait to hear all about your new appliances!

Trees are by far some of my favorite things, ever. We have a tree filled property, too, and I love it..
