A good day

Just checking in to say that I have lost 1 and 1/2 pounds this week. I will take that as a sign that I am doing something right. I appreciate all of your comments and support so very much on my last post. Talk about support and friendship...you are all so kind to me. Thank you very much.

My assignment before I return to my work as a floral designer is to negotiate my salary with my former boss. Their sales have dropped since I left due to my knee injury and they ask me to come back to work. It will be very part time.

This is going to be a challenge because while I know I am worth it, I don't know if they can afford me. I tend to just give away my time because it is easier than asking for what I need. I don't mind really because this little job gives me something to do and the benefits are to be around fantastic people to work with.

I know what I can produce in my work and I know that I am good at what I do. I excel at my job and I love it. This is the only area of my life that I have real confidence. It is a gift that God has given me. I have always been able to take nothing and make it into something beautiful whether it be flowers or another man's junk. It becomes my treasure.

Well, that is it for me. Have a wonderful weekend. Much love and peace to all of you.

Congrats on losing the weight. Keep up the good work. Just make sure my friend that you don't price yourself out of the market. I know how you enjoy doing your arrangements and that, being one of the things that makes you happy, you wouldn't want to be able not to do that. I do hope that everyone can agree so that you can get back to doing what you love :) Have a great weekend :)

Thom, thanks for th congrats on the weight loss. It is much appreciated.

As far as work goes, I work for peanuts compared to what I should be paid. But I am sure we can come to an agreement. They are paying me contract labor which really does not make any money or pay my SS and Medicare.

Have a great week end.

HI PAM-

all sounds wobnderful :-) and as far as the job? if you know your worth, which it seems you do and you know your talent is a gift then being paid whatever seems reasonable. I feel how happy you are just writing about being there, so go, do, create, give, enjoy :-)

Have a lovely weekend
Love Gail
peace.....

Gail, thank you for your lovely comment. I do love to create even if I don't get paid what I am worth.

The idea for me is that I am able to express myself and my self worth to them. Our chat went very good. I am pleased that I was able to express myself. Before I would have not done that.

You have a lovely weekend too.
Pam

Congrats on the weight loss Pam. I know it's not easy.
You are a talented lady... I hope your employers come to some kind of agreement.

Dawn, I thank you for the nice comment. Their business has dropped off. I will just have to wait and see what they say.

I really just want to make enough to cover my trainer's cost. I hope that won't be a problem. If not then I am going to take up oil painting again. I have been drawing, but have not painted in a long time.
Have a great weekend. Love ya.

JBR, thank you for your kind words. I am haning in there.

DeEtta, You are such a sweet friend. I really felt those HUGS! It is hard for me to stay in a good place for a long time. I am so very inconsistent and that is one of the things I am working on. I appreciate your support.

HUGS back to you and have a great weekend.

Stay the course on the weight loss. It sounds like you have a good formula going for you.

As to the salary situation, I'm certain you and they will negotiate in good faith. And perhaps if you are able to help them increase sales, then there could be a renegotiation.

Good luck!

Pam, so great to hear from you. Thanks for you kind comments on my blog.

Losing weight can be hard work, I celebrate with you in your success! I hope you are able to be compensated well for your time and creative skills in flower arranging. Having a job you love and working with great people can be a real bonus, even if your wage may not be what you would like.

I find that to be true in my job.

Travis, Thank you for the great comment on the weight loss.

I worked for them a year and did bring their sales up especially in the florals. But I like that I might re-negotiate my salary when things sales get better. The reason they are so down is that they don't have a designer.

Have a great weekend.

Jen, you must have commented at the same time and I missed it. I am trying so very hard to eat clean and stay motivated. It is nice when I see some results.

As far as the job I am use to making much more money, but I do love to create. I really felt sorry for them because they are in their fourth year in this tiny little town. They do have the market cornered as far as flowers. A lot of folks come from larger towns to shop here.

Thank you so much stopping by and have a great weekend.

Good for you on the weight loss! And I have given away so much of my talent for free over the years. I wish you great success in getting what you are WORTH! :)
