This year I want to learn how to balance my life in a good way so I can be more productive.
I yearn to be more expressive in my life.

More Creative.
More at peace.

My word for the year is balance. I want to have some balance in my life. No more of the twisting and juggling acts I do. I am tired of hanging on the edge in hopes that I will come to my center of gravity.
I am dizzy from this dance without purpose.
I want to savor each bite like my morning oatmeal, to enjoy each taste to the fullest. To taste the sun crystals, to detect the inner flavor of life. To simply be in the moment.

I am here and I am present.

Balance is new for me since you know that I am an all or nothing type of woman. As I enter this season of my life, I want to be healthy in so many areas of my life. Physically, mentally, emotionally fit for the rest of my time here on Earth.

The lack of balance brings so many different feelings to my less than ordinary life. Often it makes me feel insane and at the same time it quinches my thirst for my never ending creativity.

I wonder if will I loose some of that desire to be on the edge, of not complying to the rules of life. Can balance survive without manic moments?

I am not manic yet, though some times I feel like I am on the edge of insaniety. I fight to stay sane, to keep order in my life provides stability.

Yet I have to confess, it is a never ending challenge to keep myself on the path to order.

It does not take much for me to get side tracked and off the path.

What I desire is a balance between the two extremes. Why does daily rountine bore me yet I need it in order to survive?
Do any of you struggle with this?

Hi Pam,

What a wonderful post. Balance - yes I struggle, and I would guess most of us do to some extent.

Blessings always,

I find when I feel my life is not in balance is when I've been giving too much to endeavors outside of myself. Some ME time helps brings life back into focus.

I must be lucky because I don't have an issue with this. I'm happy about it too.

You'll find your way Pam. I'm sure of it. One step at a time.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

Balance is always important. Now that you have the goal, you just need the strategy. Then you can follow the steps toward achieving your goal.

Excellent work!

A wonderful and inspiring post Pam. I struggle with this too but for me the key is in taking small steps. Right now I'm trying to get my eating habits in check because having spent my whole life eating whatever I pleased whenever I pleased and it has caught up with me and I became quite ill over Christmas.
Best of luck to you my friend.

Akelamula, I agree with you on this subject. Thanks so much.

Joyce at The Bear's Blog, I always wonder if it is just me or do others feel this way at times. Thank you for your answer.

Rudee, that is some excellant advice. I appreciate it.

Sandee, you are so lucky to be normal. You are such a good friend and always say the most supportive things. HUGS.

Travis, you are so logical. You make it sound easy. I like that a lot. Thank you.

Dawn,I am so sorry that you became ill at Christmas. I can't imagine that you can't eat whatever you want. I agree about the small steps. That gives me hope.

I struggle always for balance, often between loss and hope at this time of my life... May you find it. Beautifully written.

I think many of us ladies have a problem with balance. Often I think we just try to be all things to all the people in our lives. It works for a little while and then, after awhile we find ourselves out of balance, out of control, and out of our minds! I'm most aquainted with the "out of our minds" part lol.

Problem is a lot of people do a great job of acting as if they have their act all together. Personally, I'm not a very good actor. Something tells me you may not be either.

So this is a great goal for the new year Pam. Hold fast to your faith and cling to the only one that can bring peace and balance to our lives when there is none--and that is Jesus!

Blessings,
Debra

PAM-

I am naturally in 'balance' and it is such a blessing. I also know that it is a state of mind and spirit - many tragic thins happen but at the same time there is always many wonderful things happening too - the key is to give time and honor to both. SO balance is about having the where-with-all to feel happy about what is good in your life even when bad things. happen. ALl the ingredients to be balanced are within you - just tap your own natural resources, gifts and wisdom.
Love you
Gail
peace......

Amy @ She Writes, sometimes I think it is a gift and sometimes it feels like a curse. I hope things are better.

Debra, this soul searching is really hard to do. The year of Pam is a challenge. I don't know what I would do without my faith.

Gail, you are so forntunate to have balance in your life.

I was inspired and motivated by your post.

I don't think I have balance in any area of my life. Hmmm, I'll have to think about it.

I wish you only the best in your quest to find balance in your life!

I struggle with balance, and have had to make some very scary moves to try and reach more balance.

You know I'm pretty much an all or nothing type too... and manic at times. But I think you need the manic side to off set the calm... it's all about balance...

The things that I have learned;

1.your work cannot rule your life, even if you make your work your life. It just won't bring you joy that life brings.

2.you can't expect to have a pin point schedule all the time. Sometimes, you have to deal with the unscheduled, and at times these moments will define your character. Don't be affraid, because you are who you need to be to handle it.

3. Trust yourself, and trust in yourself. If your gut is telling you 'NO', listen.

4. look in the mirror with love and respect. You deserve it.

Simple things that waver from time and again... but these are the thoughts that make me regain my balance.

Xmichra, how did you get to be so smart at such a young age? YOur comments were awesome.

I finally learned lesson #1 after I sold my flower shop.

Point # 2, my childhood was so helter skelter that I thought I needed control. Little did I know that I control nothing.

Point # 3, excellant, I totally agree.

Point #4,that is hard to so, but I will try.
