Summertime and the livin' is easy

Nothing better than the summertime with a glass of lemonade or I should say Crystal light lemonade and taking the time to enjoy each day. Even if it is something as simple as shelling peas. This takes me back to memories of long ago with my grand mother and shelling peas. It is a lovely day to walk down memory lane. Of course I have some help today.

Why is it that cats think they know so much? Here Baby is wanting to help me shell purple hull peas from Hub's garden. If you read my blog then you know how involved my cats are in my daily activities. They seem to invite themselves to my day to day chores.

Nothing will stop this determined little cat. She is so curious.

This is what it is all about...the peas

She is taking her pick of the crop

You wonder why they are called purple hull peas?
A little stain on my fingers is worth it

I'm going to cook them for dinner along with some okra

Sorry Bruno...You're too late to help

This one will do nicely

She won't eat it, but she does like to play with it.

Pass the peas please

I hope you are enjoying your summer days. Making lots of good memories and livin' easy.

Pam, thank you for sharing the adorable pictures. Blessings.

Whatever you have actually belongs to the cat. You're just borrowing it.

HA!

My vegetables aren't ready in the garden, but the herbs are, and they're going into everything. Leo "helped" me in the garden and got kicked out twice. He goes insane back there.

Hope you're doing well, Pam. You sound better. Enjoy your walk down Memory Lane.

Lailani, they are delicious, especially with some pan fried okra.

JBR, Hey I hope everything is going good for you and your Mom. I am glad you liked the pictures.

Travis, I stand corrected. You are so right in that everything belongs to my cats. So true that I am just borrowing it for now.

Rudee, my herbs died a little while back. They just could not take this dreadful Texas heat. My husband's garden is about dead from the heat. NOthing can withstand TEXAS HEAT. Arggg!

Two more months of extreme heat and maybe it will not be so hot. Today it was 119 out on our west deck under the patio umbrellas.

Thank you, I am feeling a whole lot better. I will post about that in a few days.

HI PAM - so good to see you, you have been on my mind. Your peas look lovely - and I only like okra battered and fried which I am sure makes for a very unhealthy vegetable! :-) We are finally finished with our painting etc, phew, and it is beautiful. I will be posting pics once my antique vanity comes back from the furniture doctor. Our bedroom, especially, is so wonderful - like a tree house on an island.
Take care and Happy Summer
Love Gail

I'll be over for dinner. I love okra a lot. Peas too, but the okra the very best.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

Akelamula, Except for the heat summer is wonderful. I'm glad you love it.

Gail, I can't wait to see your new bedroom. How lovely it must be?

I have learned to stir fry cut okra in a little bit of oil, then it doesm't get slimey. A lot less calories than breaded.

I am doing great. I missed you,too.

Sandee, How much okra do you want? LOL! Hubs has decided he can't eat it anymore. Probably the last time he will grow it. I love okra.

I've never grown or even cooked those kind of peas :) I bet they would taste great though!

Mmm! I'm a little late, but I wanted to comment on this lovely post. It had a very nice mood about it. Relaxed, easy going, doing something fun that brought back memories, with your cats, preparing what I'm sure was a good meal. That's all really nice! Thanks for sharing a bit of your day! :-)
