I'm still here

Hey friends...I'm still here. I have been working at the flower shop for the last three and a half weeks. They had an emergency of sorts. We have all pitched in to cover the absence of my young boss. She has been managing the shop for four years now. She is just 22 years old. Remember that old expression "All work and no play" ? She has burned out her candle. If you don't mind, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

And what about this HEAT? I'm so ready for some cooler weather. Everything has burned up. My darling, HUBS, is watering the tree saplings. He is the one with the green thumb. He said he might not make a garden next year because of the expense of water. I'm sure going to miss fresh vegetables.

I've been researching my side of the family. It has been interesting to find out more information about them. No one ever does research on the woman's side of the family. HUBS' family circle is ever so complete with roots far and deep. Since my father was adopted, I am not able to get any information. On my mother's side of the family, they were from Scotland and were shoe makers and dress makers. I've found some that served in the Civil War. No one famous yet. They say we are all related to the same seven people. Have any of you researched your family history?

I'm still exercising. I've been on a plateau for a while. Even though it's a struggle, I am just doing it. I know in time I will loose more weight again. I'm not going to worry about it for now. I've learned a lot of new things in therapy. Other than not sleeping, I would say things are pretty good right now.

I am so sick of hearing about the debt crisis. Remember about ten years ago, they said we should all pay off our debt. It looks like a lot of us took this advice. So why can't our government do the same thing. I try to steer clear of any political statements on my blog, but folks this is out of hand. I am so sick of big government and over-spending. And who are the ones that are affected the most? The old, the disabled, the children. OK. That was my rant. Enough said.

I hope to be blogging more in the fall. Everybody take care.

The weather has been awful this year. I haven't seen the water bill yet, nor the electric bill for the central air. Perhaps I should buy a defibrillator before I open those.

Glad you're doing well.

As for money, ponder this: In the time it takes you to take 20 breaths, which is about a minute, our government spends $284,722 to support two wars. Take care though...If you think about that too much, it'll take your breath away.

Rudee, I'm glad to see that you haven't lost your sense of humor.

Our water bill for June was 150 dollars and the same for July. The water was for the garden. Cholrine in not good for vegatable gardens.
This month it was 25 dollars. Our water is so nasty that they sell it for cheap.

Unbelievable about the debt. Thanks for stopping by.

HI PAM -
you sound great. :-) I agree about the weather, for sure. I am ready for Autumn.
Stop by some time.
Love Gail

I'm glad to see a post from you and I'm glad you are doing okay. Well except for the not sleeping part. Prayers for the flower shop manager.

The government is indeed out of control. I agree with you on this issue.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

Hey Gail, I wouldn't look for fall any time soon. I will stop by and visit you soon.

Peace and love,
Pam

Sandee, thanks so much for the prayers for my boss. I am thankful to be doing so well.

Big hugs back to you. And what can we say about the govt? I hope their constiguents give them an earful while they are on break.

You sound busy, but really good! It's very nice y'all are helping the young owner.

I hope the weather cools down a bit for you, and that you soon find a little more time for your own interests.
The fall will be here before we know it!

Peace!

Ferd, thank you for the lovely comment. I am feeling so much better. Farmer's Almanac forcast some rain in Sept. Everything is a tender box here with some forrest fires.

THis heat is awful.

I hope my young boss will be better soon. I don't think she is coming back to work for her parents. I am sad to see her leave.

I'm happy you are still here! It is lonesome not hearing from you. You sound super busy helping your boss. That's what I like about you, always thinking of others. Hope she gets better soon.

We have had a wonderful not too hot summer. It has been in the mid 80s to low 90s but always cools down to the low 60s at night.

Genealogy is so much fun. I make you feel special to know where you fit in. These people start feeling like old friends that you have known forever.

Take care of your sweet self.

DeEtta, I miss you too. Your weather sounds wonderful. Yesterday was 109 and it set a record. It is 86 right now. This is the 44th straight day of this heat wave. I'm just glad that you are having good weather.

You are so right about genalogy. Our immediate family is small. It is nice to see where I come from.

Thank you for stopping by. Love you, my friend.

I've been on the plateau, as far as weight loss is concerned, for some time too. I've found though that exercise does make you look as though you've lost weight because it tones you up so I'll keep with it. :)

Nice to hear how you are doing Pam :) Hope you get the rest you need.

Akelamula,a plateau is so discouraging. I hope you break your plateau.

Toning up definately is a plus! Thanks for stopping by.

Crochet lady, It is so nice to see a comment from you. I come from a long line on non-sleepers. I'm not as bad as my sister.

Hi Miss Pam,

It was fun visiting with you. I have missed our visits. But we are back and ready to get fall decorations under way. Mom says it has been a hot summer. At camp it got cold at night and we wore our flannel jams and used all our blankies.

Heaps of Hugs
Prudence

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Pam!! I'm late - I was out camping in the wilderness and away from all media :) It was pretty great to tell you the truth.

I went to research my family roots, and came up with a lot of dead ends. I had issues with pre-ww1 era and the lack of documents there. especially on my german side. My grandfather had many notes and a family tree, but my grandmother had nothing.

Hope you are doing well, and don't burn yourself out trying too hard to help ;)

Hey Xmichra, I'm glad you had a good time camping out. I bet your weather was great.

Researching your family history is a lot of work. Did you join a search site or have you found a free one? I like Family.search.com
because it is connected to the Mormon Church. They are most helpful.

When do your kids start school? I hope they have a great school year.

Love ya.
Pam

I found a lot from ancestry.com, and from following facebook beleive it or not. But on my paternal grandmothers side, her parents were killed and she was orphaned at a young age. So there is litterally nothing to go on, because her parents didn't have anything - or didn't care to share. Uncertain.

Kira goes to school next Tuesday. She's pretty pumped, grade 3 :)

Xmichra, my father was adopted and I can not go any farther on his side of the family. We were estranged.

I tried Archives, but when I went to a document a fee was needed in order to view it. I wonder why I can not find myself? I thought that was amusing of sorts.

Wishing Kiera a wonderful school year. I like your new photo of yourself. You look fantastic.

Thank you for the other comment. You are always so supportive. I have some very vague and dreadful memories of my childhood. I talked with my therapist about them. It has not been easy, but I am coping with them.

I really appreciate you confindence in me. You are so very kind and understanding. It is as if you totally get me. Pretty awesome considering we live thousands of miles apart. Thank you for being a stand up friend.

I just think sometimes I know what you are going through (if not exact) and I know it's tough sometimes. But when you are willing to give yourself the best you - then things can just be fantastic. And I like to try and remind people that they are their own worst critic (truely) and we've all had to do something we didn't want to do. We are human. And we fail sometimes. And sometimes humanity fails us as well. But it doesn't mean that had to define your life.

I know you know all of that, and try very hard to focus on the positive. So When you feel down and write in here, I feel that you are asking for a little boost. And I'll do that every day knowing that the other side is just needing that boost and wants to be actively involved with life, no whoa is me additude... And you my friend are definately one of those people! You get the boost and you GO! You make me proud Pam :)

Xmichra, you are the st cheer leader I have around. I never thought of it that way(needing a bost), but when you put it that way I really get it.

I never want to be a person that feels sorrow for herself. I try to figure it out and see how I can improve myself. Make me a better person. SOmetimes life does let us down, but thankfully there are more good times than the bad ones.

In the World of cyber space you are a real jewel of a friend. I hope I can repay the favor if you ever need a boost.

What kind of work do you do? Must be in mental health? Geeze, you are a good listener. LOL!

Xmichra, that should read best cheerleader. My fingers must not be pressing the keys hard enough.

I'm glad you're still here. I'm still here too... at least when I can be. Family trees are really interesting. My cousin just discovered family in Wales. Apparently my grandfather had a child he never told anyone about during the war. The things you discover when you dig deep enough!

Take care... I'll be back in the fall too. Loves ya!
