Mine did not either, but then again - most my wishes were things I thought would bring a happy moment. Saying that little ditty and remembering it does bring a happy smile!
Beautiful image - and memory of childhood wishes - I am sorry yours didn't come true. :-( I wished he would stop hurting me and Dennis and the other 2 girls - I wished my Dad would somehow find out and saved us all - I wished every night.
I love the picture. I still look up into the sky and wish on the first star but then I still read fairy tales too. As the sun was going down my mother would take us outside and we would watch with anticipation the first star so we could wish on it. Thanks for the memory.
I remember holding my sister's hand as a little girl and saying those words for the first time. It left me thinking that anything is possible.
Thanks so much for your suggestions and kind words on my last post. I appreciate that so much. I am trying to throw my whole heart into my little business venture for one year, to see if this is really what I want to spend my time on. So far it has mostly just been a lot of work and I think I get bogged down in that and forget about other reasons and purposes behind what I am doing. You can check out my blog tookietrinkets.blogspot.com, to read about my business.
Thanks again Pam for taking the time to share some encouragement with me.

Love the photograph. Awesome.
I used to say that all the time when I was a kid. My sister and I would do it together. I don't remember if any of my wishes came true though.
Have a terrific day Pam. Big hug. :)

Those are beautiful images. I'm going to confess here there are times I still look up into the sky and say that same thing :) Fascinating they are :)

My wishes came true but sometimes in the way I thought they would.

That is a beautiful picture. I still like wishing on stars.
But you know they tell us, careful what you wish for right Pam? Hope the wishes that have a deep longing all come true for you

That was a beautiful picture. I still say that poem. It is like a tradition with me to say it whenever I see the first star of the night.
It's a beautiful photo Pam and I still say those magical words.
BTW: Happy Birthday to you!
Dawnn, thanks for the birthday wishes here and on my FB. I hope you are doing good.
I said it too Pam. It was truly one of my favorite childhood activities... watching for the first star.
Have a wonderful week Pam!
