The downward spiral continues with my sister. Surprise? She finally had a wreck involving another car. It was her fault. She said "I may have fallen asleep." The accident happened at 4:30 in the afternoon. How do you fall asleep while you are driving? Thankfully, no one was hurt. Her car was totaled. Thankfully, she had insurance and a current driver's license. Yes, she used to drive with no insurance and an expired license.
Of course, she didn't tell her us until a day after the wreck. She still wants to get another car and drive. I can't believe her! She has had several mini accidents in which she has wrecked four of her tires, and she can't see over the driver's steering wheel. Her thinking is shot to pieces. Her brain must look like Swiss cheese. One day, she ran out of gas, couldn't fill her tank with a one gallon container of gas because she is too weak, ran out of gas again in the same day. If this isn't insane, I don't know what is?
She has her priorities in the wrong order. The day of the accident she was driving in the rain going to Fred's to buy something for her house. What's it gonna take to convince her not to drive? I've said all that I can say. Has she started her out patient therapy? Of course not. She has lots of things she needs to do like get the deed to her new home, but has she? She is not taking her meds as prescribed and not eating right.
She is defiant and stubborn. At what cost? I've talked about the possibility of her killing someone in an accident, but it falls on deaf ears. She continues to be out of control. She did get a ticket and has to go to court. I pray that the judge sees straight through her. Take her license...Please? Please?

You might want to contact DMV yourself. I'm just saying. It's better than her killing some innocent family.
I'm so sorry that you are dealing with her destructive behavior all the time. This should be her burden not yours.
Have a terrific day and weekend honey. Big hugs. :)
Never a dull moment with her, is there?
*sigh*... I am very sorry to hear all this Pam. We had an uncle that was always whacked out on pain meds, and it wasn't until the aunts talked with his doctor and got him to show up in court stating that he couldn't drive- that his license was finally suspended. He even hit someone on a bike and took no ownership of that. (the guy lived, but still).
He also didn't concider the aunts and what they had to go through for him and his idiocy... right down to talking to the parent of the guy he hit. Not a fun scenario.
I hope that she gets her license revoked, but I doubt that will keep her off the road. If she is willing to drive with an expired license and expired insurance.... well. There is no line.
(((hugs))) to you my friend, and good luck with those red walls!! I had them too, and it took a looooot of paint!! lol....
Sandee, that is a good idea about contacting the DMW. I'm scared to think of her killing someone while she is driving.
Rudee, I am trying to distance myself from her by not going to see her. I did tell her son about her wanting to get another car. H didn't know that and is going to talk with her this weekend. Good grief even her ex-husband is calling me because he is worried about her.
Xmichra,I am sorry that your family had to go through this with your uncle. It is devasting to think about it all.
I'm almost through with those red walls. It has been hard to get it all painted. You're so right about all of the paint it takes.
So sorry:( {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}
Take care of your sweet self.
HI - oh my, complicated and frightening times. I wonder if you contacted NAMI yet? It is a wonderful organization that can give you support on many levels. Because the best thing you can do for Candy is to take care of yourself.
Love Gail
peace.....
Oh my, your sister has to be stopped from driving, so dangerous to herself and to others. :(
You must be so worried. x
