The day is finally here. We will be moving Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We have not found a wireless provider yet, so it may be awhile before I am back on the Internet. When we get settled in, I will be back. Chickie, please send some of your good thought beams our way as we will need it. Sometimes Saintly Nick and Dr. John and Betty and Jules any and all prayers are requested and will greatly be appreciated.I have to pack meds, clothes, cleaning products, guns, jewlery, and all the rest of the junk that the movers won't move. OK, I am feeling better now. Sorry for the moment of insaniety. Thanks for listening if you got this far. lol
We are going to need a really big truck! I hope I don't forget the dog and the cats. Remember, we have lived in Kilgore for twenty-six years and most of them in this home. So I am sure there will be a few tears here and there. I am leaking from my eyes. Blessings. Be sure to let me know what you are doing. I love my blog friends. Gee, I sound like this is my last transmission ever in the world. My hubs says probably a day or two before I am connected. That is good.

The Love of My Life.
They met in front of the Church Street Post Office. Irene was walking into the post office when John saw her struggling with her bag. Being the gentleman that he was, he offered her his assistance. Shyly, Irene accepted his help. John smiled as she thanked him. Not wanting to leave her, John quickly thought of the first thing that came to his mind. He ask if she would like to see a merry go round that he had bought and was repairing. Irene felt the same sense of familiarity and said yes that she would love to see it.
John hailed a taxi and helped Irene into it. Off they went to the warehouse a few miles a way. During their ride they talked even more about their lives. Their eyes glimmered with excitement. It was love at first sight. Neither had ever felt this way before and this feeling was new to Irene and John. What would they do next? They could hardly pull themselves apart. Irene thought of her Mother and worried what she would think of this random rendezvous with a total stranger?
Upon arrival, Irene was surprised to see the warehouse was a museum in the making. It was a completely restored Victorian town with shops, brick streets, lamp posts and even a life size horse drawn carriage and of course the carousel. The museum would be opening by the end of the month.
They walked through the warehouse when they came to the carousel. Irene smiled when she saw it, which made John laugh. Immediately, he knew that he was going to marry this beautiful woman. The hit it off and laughed together after John commented on her smile. As they talked, they realized that they had so much in common. They felt so comfortable as if they had known one another forever. John hoped his Mother would approve of Irene. Why did he care what his Mother thought anyway? But deep inside his heart, he knew he would have to go see his Mother. He had never been so impulsive before. John knew that life was short and that it passes too fast.
Irene had never seen anything so beautiful as the carousel. It was hand made and intricately carved with the most magnificent details. John had taken care to restore it to it's original beauty. He loved this carousel and could not wait for Irene to take a ride on it. The time flew by and before they knew it John said he had to take care of some business. Before he left, he ask Irene if he could have dinner with her and Irene gave him her address. He flagged a taxi for Irene and bid her farewell.
Irene had somewhere that she had to go too. She gathered some pink hydrangeas from her garden and set off for her visit. John stopped by the local florist and purchased a bouquet of pink roses and left in a hurry for his destination. It seems that both Irene and John had something very important to take care of before they met again. Excited, but apprehensive, they set about there journey with great intensity.
Quietly, Irene entered the gate and went to see her Mother. She lay the flowers down. It had been a while since she had come there. She had to do this before she could see John again. "Oh, Mother, I have met the most marvelous man." "I have never felt this way about anyone in my life." "What should I do?" Irene cried because she was sad and needed to talk with her Mother. Quietly, she sat still waiting for an answer.

As John arrived he looked for the large pink hydrangeas that his Mother loved. He hurriedly walked to reach his Mother. Upon arrival he sat down on the bench with the flowers.
"Hey Mother" John said. "It has been too long since I have seen you." "Mother, I have met this incredible young lady and I want to marry her!" He heard, "Son, do what your heart tells you to do." In a moment, he knew it was alright to ask for Irene's hand in marriage. That is exactly what he planned to do at dinner that night.
After visiting their loved ones, Irene and John started walking out the gate. A look of surprise came over one another. "John, what are you doing here?" ask Irene. John, shocked ask her the same question. "My mother is at rest here!" said Irene and "I just needed to spend some time with her." said Irene. John said "My mother is here as well. Oh my! Little did they know that both of their Mothers were buried at the same cemetery. Irene and John embraced. "So this was the business you had to take care of?" said Irene. "I am sorry darling, but yes it is." answered John.
My Mother meant everything to me and I just had to ask her if she approved of what I was going to do. "What are you going to do?"ask Irene. "Well, you see, I ... I ugh,"said John, "I know that we have just met and this may not be proper, but," John got down on his knee and in a sweet voice ask, "Irene, will you marry me?" "Of course I will marry you, dear!" This incredible story turned into a happy and loving marriage going on 65 years now.

To my darling husband. Thank you for always being here for me and loving me. I am so happy that we have made it so many years. Though some were hard and some years we had challenges, we always had one another to depend on for support and friendship. We may not always see eye to eye because you are a foot taller than me, but we have a love like no other. Seems like just yesterday that we met in Spanish class in college. What a life, and what an adventure we have had together, dear. Thank you for loving me. Love forever.
For lunch, we went to the local catfish place to eat. Of course, we run into some friends and they join us for lunch. There are not many places to eat out. All of east Texas is pretty much oil field related so you see folks from all different places. That was great to see them. Before leaving, my husband kisses me, I say happy anniversary tomorrow, he laughs! He will be home tomorrow after the barn is delivered.
Hey honey, I need some curtains for the new place... No!
Can you guess you can see where I am going
with this?
Hey honey, I need new bedroom furniture? No!
Hey honey, I need a deck? Yes!
I am just not asking the right questions!

I have a lot on my plate this year as I become more interested in getting back into the proactive lifestyle.
If you haven't visited BJ Roan who writes on a blog she calls Serendipity, then I strongly encourage you to do so.
I have a serious thought for this blog, but first let's catch up.
Awhile back ago I touted about "Goose Island", but that soda is no longer at Target stores and I'm not able to find it.
I didn’t think I would have a photo as it has been mostly gray skies and we had another snow storm.

Steller’s eggs?
Sunday Snow Hi 28°F SO!

We were born on the same day in the same hospital. Was that a coincidence? I don't think so, but on the day we were born something unusual happened that day. Every year from then on, the town of Weeping Willows held a huge celebration in our honor on the fourth of July. This little town was a quaint place full of unusual folks. A town where everyone knew all about you and who your family was and even your long lost relatives.
The fourth of July was fast approaching and the anticipation was rising. At the center of town we could see the red, white and blue banners hanging from the gallows. In days of old, cattle rustlers and horse thieves were hanged that way. It was considered highway robbery by folks and they did not much like it if some rustler came to town to steal. So punishment was final. The burial grounds were just down the road.
This day was full of celebration from sun up to sun down. Everybody participated in throwing this bash. The Brown sisters always made a double batch of chocolate brownies. We always had a big barbecue with lots of hot dogs and all the trimmings and of course Mr. Davis' home made home made ice cream with the milk from his dairy cows and eggs from his chickens
Miss Rhea, the town's baker, would do all the shopping for the celebration. She had gotten everything on her list except for a roll paper towels, which she would pick up in the morning because Mr. Pickett's Grocery had them on a two for one sale. She always made the most beautiful cake for the party with all different kinds of brightly colored flowers on it. We could not figure out why they celebrated. The girl, Claire, had to share her birthday with a silly boy named Robert. While Robert had to share the day with a bratty little girl named Claire. It was always the same thing for both of them. It was worth it because everyone had so much fun. They even had a gospel singer that played piano with the band.
This little town was a quaint place full of unusual folks. Some would call them weirdos, but we called them eccentric kind of like an erupting volcano. So when the town's matriarch, Mrs.Nina Fern, who was a little eccentric, got mad everyone jumped and did just what she said right then and now. They were not afraid of her but they jumped to help because they loved her dearly. The town of Weeping Willows' Mayor, Mr.Edward, was married to Mrs. Nina Fern and their grandchildren were twins, Claire and Robert.
Mini Challenge: Symbiosis, Sagging breasts, Navajo blanket, Frogmen, Who says I got no heart?
The Navajo Indians called the divers "frogmen" because they looked like frogs to the children. The women had sagging breasts from feeding their children. They were diving for the remains of the lost artifacts of their tribe. Chief Long feather was insulted because he did not understand the legalities of the foreigners, or what they were doing there. The diver was trying to explain that the artifacts might be affected by the symbiosis of algae and bacteria. But the Chief did not understand the diver.
The two men had words. The Chief called out in his native tongue to his tribesmen and they surrounded the frogmen immediately. Things got a little heated, then the Chief said "Who says I got no heart?" I have a very big heart. Feel my heart. "Yes, I see you have a big heart," replied the frogman. In an instance, the chief changed his demeanor and was pleased. Chief Long feather was so pleased because the frogmen found their artifacts. The divers ran tests on them and told the tribe that the artifacts were in good condition. The chief returned the favor by giving them a hand made Navajo blanket.
This week’s vanity wordzzle: tiger, false, camera, obsolete, velvet, novelty, timeless, contract, mellifluous, sandalwood, perfection, xylophone, topography
The topography of the land gave a false sense of distance and made it difficult for the musician and his tiger to get to the king's tent where he would play for a wedding. The mellifluous xylophone played a timeless song with great perfection as the smoldering trails of sandalwood incense perfumed the tent. The king's contract provided a novelty event for the king and his new bride as they would pose with the tiger laying on the purple velvet couch while the photographer captured the moment with an old obsolete camera.
Caution...
Akelamula at Everything And Nothing has given me my first award. I wanted to pass it on to some of my favorite blogs. I hope you enjoy it!Please feel free to pass it on to your favourite bloggers mentioning the origin and the sentiments behind it please.
This morning I thought we would start cleaning out some of the closets before the move. My husband cleaned out a lot of his old clothes and bagged them up, but he left some luggage in the floor. Then I started cleaning out my closet and was walking out of the bathroom with clothes in hand and dragging on the floor and much to my surprise, I tripped over the luggage. I guess I forgot that it was even there, since I could not see it. Down I went crashing into the wardrobe and to the wall. Ouch! That really hurt so much. Did I say yeoweh! Ouch! Ouchie! I could not even get up, so I am calling for my husband to come and help me.
After I recover, then my husband continues in the attic. He is bringing down boxes of old checks to burn and misses the wrung on the stairs and breaks the lower part of the ladder. Of course he is fine.

storage room. It is where I kept my floral supplies and vases, container, ribbons and all things floral related. I am giving her all of my things because she still caterers, makes cakes and does flowers. So we work until dark thirty. I am in so much pain right now that I can hardly move. We do make a big dent in my supplies. The rest of my stuff will go to our church garage sale. | Reactions: |
